Department of child rehabilitation

Disability is a huge curse in our society for the parents and the children. Till now it was believed that nothing can be done for these children; but we are here to change this belief. This is the most challenging task we haveundertaken and aim to take it head on.Many therapists from different streams are needed to work for long duration to achieve the results in this field. We have made a beginning in this field where Miss Neha Bhatia (BPT, MPT neuro-physiotherapy) will be taking care of physical part of therapy (she is working in this field at UMEED for last one year with great results) along with DrSanjay Arora. We plan to start botox therapy also in coming times.

Speech rehabilitation is other area where we are trying to start special programme for hearing assessment, speech therapy, cochlear implant etc. Currently we have one day per week services available of Miss Pallavi (BSc Audiology) for the speech therapy. We are doing OAE routinely and BERA on appointment basis. Facilities for doing cochlear implant will be started in next one year.

Child psychology is other neglected area where Miss Bharti (MSc child psychology) will be helping us on every Wednesday and Fridays. She will be doing assessment and treatment of school failure cases, behavioral issues like autism, ADHD etc., and sessions for mentally retarded children.

We are also planning to start special classes for mentally retarded children by special educators in next few months
